In the presentation, magician, on an elevated platform 6 feet above the stage, is chained to a frame at his wrists, waist, and legs. On each side of the platform is a rack of foot long, razor sharp steel spikes, set to thrust together, after a specified time, directly at the magician. An enclosure is placed around the magician and the front blind is drawn, as the spike are lit on fire (optional). The enclosure is illuminated from the back and the silhouette of the magician can be seen making his escape – first getting each hand free, and then working on the waist chains. The performers real hands and arms are also seen extending from the top of the enclosure, as the escape progresses. Suddenly, the spikes are forcefully thrust together, where they are seen to hit the silhouette of the magician. Instantly, the blind at the front of the enclosure flies up, revealing that the magician has completely disappeared. Magician can then reappear in the audience or in a robe as one of “captors”. This illusion, standing nearly 12 feet tall, is truly a showstopper.
It is an extremely rare, a top quality prop.
NOTE: illusion is MUCH safer than a Table of Death, as there is no way for the spikes to accidentally hit the magician. They are fully controlled the entire time.
