How to Buy

BIDDING ON MAGICAUCTION.COM

You must have registered on the site before you can bid on an item. Click here to register.

The actual bidding process is as follows:

Browse the Auction Catalog
Click on the item you want to bid on. That opens the item page.
Enter your bid and click the Submit button. You will see a pop-up asking you to confirm your bid. Review your bid and click Yes to confirm your bid.
After confirming your bid, you will receive a Confirmation Email. You will receive separate emails for each item you have bid on.
If you opted in to Text Messaging, you would receive a text message confirming your bid.
Continue browsing the Catalog and repeat steps 2 through 5 for each item you wish to bid on.
Even though you should receive notification (by email and / or text) of being outbid, we encourage you to monitor your item(s) directly on the site. When the auction is close to closing, bidding may happen quickly. So, please don’t rely on emails as they may sometimes be delayed.

Bid Increments

Bidding takes place in set steps or increments

As the price of the item increases so does the amount required to make the next bid. These "steps" are in defined increments.

In other words, as the value of the item goes up, the minimum amount you have to add to place the next bid also goes up.

Example: For an item starting at $10, the first increment is to add five dollars to each successive bid (10 to 15 to 20... eventually 85, 90, 95, 100). At that pace it's 18 bids to $100.

After the price hits $100, the bidding increases to $10 increments, up to the total value is$1,000. (100, to 110, to 120... eventually 980, 990, 1000).

From $1000 the minimum bid increment is $50 until $10,000.

And so on, as noted above.

Larger bids beyond the increment are always welcome. They can also be used as "Proxy Bids." If you are not familiar with them, please see the next drop-down toggled description.

Proxy Bids, Anti-Sniping, & Strategy

Proxy Bidding - We help you automatically update your bids until it reaches the maximum bid that you set.

Bidding Strategy

Many bidders place a bid early in the week to find out if there is anyone else bidding on the item they are interested in. Other bidders wait until the last minute to bid, hoping to win the item in the last hour. A good strategy is to place a Max Bid. When placing a Max Bid, you place your bid as usual except you add the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the item. (see example below).

Example of a Max Bid: You bid $20.00 with a max bid of $25.00. If someone bids $21.00, we will automatically raise your bid, in increments, until your bid is the high bid. This will protect your bid against last minute bidders.

Auction Close & Winning Bids

WHEN THE AUCTION IS DONE...

Our auctions are scheduled to close every Wednesday night, at 10:00 PM Eastern Time.

Winning Bidders are notified by email, following the close of an auction.

Invoice & Payment Process

AFTER YOU WIN YOUR AUCTION...

Our auction closes each Wednesday at 10pm Eastern Time. Winners are notified by Thursday 10pm Eastern time, the following day, or earlier. Payment is due at this point to the Escrow account. Once payment is received, we release full details to both BUYER and SELLER. Once the terms of shipping are agreed upon by both parties, an updated and detailed final invoice, including shipping and any other fees, is sent to the BUYER. BUYER then has 5 days to process shipping payment to MagicAuction.com unless Buyer is paying for shipping directly.

For items valued USD $999.99 and under, payment may be made using Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal. For items valued USD $1,000 and over, we require a Bank Wire Transfer, Zelle, or Venmo.

Funds are held in Escrow for both parties by MagicAuction.com until the items have transferred ownership to the BUYER as determined solely by Auctioneer. At this point, funds are released to Seller. This protects both Buyer and Seller.

After the BUYER fulfills the conditions stated above, title to the offered item(s) will pass to the BUYER.

Shipping or Pickup

HOW TO RECEIVE YOUR ITEM(S)

Shipping and fees are the responsibility of the BUYER. The SELLER may, sometimes, assist the BUYER in arranging shipping.

The other option is for the BUYER to pick the item(s) up from the SELLER.

Sellers, you may pause or end your listing on Magic Auction at any time, provided there are no active bids.

The Basic Breakdown:

MagicAuction.com is an international on-line auction platform that allows individuals to list your own items with no Seller's fees, and set your own "Seller's Price."

We advertise those listings, free of charge to the Seller, on MagicAuction.com. We automatically Re-list Free.

Being in the Magic Biz my whole life, I understand that the timing of the Seller's Listing is not always in sync with the Buyer's needs. That's why we continue to re-list the Seller's item to provide opportunities to sell... it's the tradition of the site!

The "MagicAuction.com" policy for 25 years is that, "if it's available on the site longer than 1 week, there's a better chance the right Buyer will find it." That's why we gladly maintain the Seller's listing until the right Buyer comes along, or it has had enough exposure.

The auction for dwe23mat is a fair way to buy when multiple parties have interest in the same item. With a timed auction ending each week, it's fair to all Buyers.

"Auction Close" begins at US 10pm ET, but because of Proxy Bidding, and our "Anit-Sniping" feature, not everything has the same Final Close time.

Once the Winner is defined, we communicate with both Buyer and Seller to determine if pickup or shipping is preferred. Then a detailed final invoice (with shipping if applicable) is sent to the Buyer.

The Buyer sends the full amount to the MagicAuction.com Escrow account. The Seller is then instructed to release the item for pickup or for shipping to the Buyer.

Upon Transfer of Ownership as defined by Auctioneer, the net monies (less any banking and/or third-party fees) are sent to the Seller. The Escrow method maintains a fair transaction for both Buyer and Seller.
